One Minute of Your Time Please

One of the most significant things about growing old is that you learn to live with pain. Apparently, it’s just part of the aging process. As our bones and muscles and organs begin to wear out, they send us messages in the form of pain. Most of us senior folks experience a variety of aches and hurts. Eyes, ears, nose, throat, shoulders, fingers, back, knees, arches, toes, they all can take turns giving us problems.

Even if you try very hard to eat right and stay active mentally and physically, chances are you still deal with some sort of pain on a regular basis. We just have to expect it, prepare for it, and handle it. Be thankful for days when you feel good. On days when you don’t, take medication and try to stay busy to get your mind off of the discomfort. Get enough rest. Sometimes pain is just our body telling us we need rest.

Most of all, don’t let it get you down. Many have it so much worse than us. Don’t let it make you grumpy and hurtful of other people’s feelings. Damaged relationships are the biggest pain of all.
